He makes it look easy as he smoothly plants it in the bag and with position restored he engineers a split. He has to be bold and nails an absolute beauty of a blue up to the green pocket. It feels like a decisive pot but he overruns trying to land on the black and it becomes a tough cut up to the colour. It opens the door for The Pistol who mops up and nicks a cheeky red along the bottom rail. With the half century break helping him to seal the frame, the heat is off as he takes on the two remaining reds down the left rail. A yellow to its home pocket helps him down towards the pack, but he needs a good recovery with excellent control on the cue ball off the left cushion. A lovely kiss off a red tight to the black while popping away one to right corner frees up the colour. He works hard to whittle down to four reds remaining and a clinical blue that sees him come off three cushions and puts him in prime position to knock in frame ball via the rest to the left corner.
Both players work their magic with their safety to somehow avoid leaving that simple red on. A superb three-ball plant to the right corner bag proves to be the highlight of a disappointingly short run of 10 as he soon overruns the cue ball again and has to retreat to baulk. It enables him to bring the cue ball down to nick in the red above the black and free up the colour on its spot. He uses deep screw to bounce off the right cushion off a red to middle left to land neatly back on the black and despite a cluster of five reds still tight in a mini pack, he coolly takes care of the stray ones to pass the half century mark. A black down to corner right via the rest pretty much secures the frame with Allen needing a couple of snookers. Higgins splits the pack and retreats to baulk knowing he should be good for a 2-1 lead. He does indeed as a couple of shots later he gets an unfortunate double kiss and leaves that final red on to middle right.
It feels like a big miss but Allen turns down the chance to try and cut it in himself and instead plays safe to keep the outcome of this frame in the balance. However, he almost snookers himself with the black tied to the final red and again has to place safe, knocking the red up to baulk. Allen puts him back in and although the Scot hits a red full-on, he leaves it over the yellow pocket.
He adds extra zip to his attempt on the black off its spot, but he miscues and sees the repercussions of the power when the cue ball opens up the pack for Lisowski.
Lisowski bids it farewell and despatches it with ease. He looks sharp with his early cueing and threads the eye of the needle to ping a pink to bottom left that was tight to the pack before a tidy split suggests he could be in for a heavy score to open. The lefty then opts for a righty pot on a red to the bottom left before a thin cut on a black to the same bag just about makes it after a jiggle with both jaws. A lovely pot on the blue to middle right allows him to hold for a red down to the right corner, but he lets out an exasperated sigh as a kick threatens to halt his run.
He recovers from that but an attempt to split a mini pack of three goes wrong and the acute angle attempt on one to middle left just misses. Time for more snooker Bingham with the break-off... H2H This is the eighth meeting between Bingham and Lisowski with the latter currently edging the match-up 4-3. We go again!
The boys are at the baulk from 19. It will be a quick turnaround for the Crucible and us, with Jack Lisowski and Stuart Bingham the focus this evening. All square heading into the overnight session and Higgins will probably be the happier of the two. Could there be a twist late in the day here?
A blue to middle right sees the cue ball take a nasty nick off the pack - or so it seems. It opens the door for Allen again and a succession of red-black combos help him to build a decent lead. A lovely pot off the black that he engineers delightful side spin off to crash the cue ball into the pack to develop a few more reds keeps him in pole position and leaves the Wizard of Wishaw with a sinking feeling. A red to the left corner secures frame ball but he forgoes position making sure and misses a tough cut on a pink to the middle right.
It means Higgins will return searching for snookers with four reds still in play.

Самая красивая и одновременно самая мрачная сцена, где эти две составляющие пересекаются, — это когда герой Зака Эфрона истерично бьётся о канаты и тренируется в одиночестве. Зак Эфрон исполняет одну из лучших своих ролей Джереми Аллен Уайт ещё в «Бесстыжих» доказал, что умеет играть не просто эмоционально, а «на разрыв».
В последние годы в «Медведе» он выдаёт невероятные актёрские перформансы. Поэтому неудивительно, что и здесь его герой оказывается одним из самых трагичных персонажей. Но отец просто не замечает, насколько губительны его планы и мечты для сыновей. Он считает, что те должны быть «настоящими мужчинами»: вставать после серьёзных травм, не плакать даже на похоронах и обязательно следовать фамильному делу. Пока с очередным из них не случится трагедия.
