The forum stands as the largest annual arts conference in the Middle East and Asia, offering a platform for thought-provoking discussions, performances, and live talks by regional and international artists, curators, and writers. In 2019, Art Dubai attracted over 30,000 visitors, including a significant number of UAE-based, regional, and international collectors, curators, and nearly 100 visiting museums and institutions. The Contemporary section features a wide range of art forms from established galleries and younger spaces, highlighting the latest in painting, sculpture, installation, and more.

Dubai, with its dynamic and cosmopolitan atmosphere, stands as a perfect platform for our Southeast Asian artists to connect with a diverse international audience. The presentation, Transcending Boundaries: Contemporary Expressions from Southeast Asia and Beyond, conjoins a diverse yet globally resonated visual language while staying rooted in the rich cultures and concerns each artist has towards and about their locales. It sparks dialogues about the complexity of contemporary art development that is not monolithic or exclusively West-oriented. After establishing a thriving career in New York, Bickerton moved to Indonesia, where he observed the transformation of a remote island to an international tourist destination. His iconic shark sculptures that Gajah Gallery presents in Art Dubai evoke the power inherent in natural creatures. Erizal As merges abstract expressionism with the colours and textures of his environment, conveying emotions that are otherwise impossible to translate into literal words or realistic works.

From March 4 to 8, the fourth edition of the Dubai Festival for School Theatre, organised by Dubai Culture, will show the creativity of school students. This edition of the exhibition involves the participation of over 100 galleries across its four sections: Contemporary, Modern, Bawwaba, and Art Dubai Digital.
