The next thing that Nerf users love about this blaster is its power. Because the Nerf Modulus ECS-10 is battery-powered and designed to be accurate, it packs quite the punch and is great for almost any type of Nerf battle. Along with the fact that this blaster is powered by batteries and designed to hit its target, the Nerf Modulus ECS-10 also has a much larger range than most of the other blasters created by Nerf and is capable of reaching up to 90 feet. There are generally only three complaints that Nerf enthusiasts have about this blaster. The first complaint is that this blaster requires 4 AA batteries. While this is definitely an improvement compared to some other Nerf blasters that require big batteries or larger quantities of smaller batteries, there is still the issue with the fact that blasters require a lot of power, which means more batteries that have to be purchased. If the blaster is overloaded with additional parts, it adds stress to the barrel and makes it harder to shoot out bullets and maintain its accuracy. Also, because the gun uses batteries to operate, it is known to jam and to be hard to fire on occasion. Is It Worth the Price? Although this is a little on the expensive end for most Nerf users, what you get and what you are able to do with it makes it more valuable than some of the other blasters available on the market at the same price. Considering what you get when you purchase this blaster and how little you will have to spend in order to upgrade it in the future, this is a great buy. Keep in mind, however, that in order to get the most out of the Modulus series and to make all 1,000 possible combinations, you will have to buy more of the Nerf Modulus series blasters in the future, which will cost you more money down the road.

What do you need to know about the Nerf Modulus? The Nerf Regulator Modulus package includes two barrel scopes can be used as barrel extension or a scope , a swivel handle for hip-fire , a storage stock to store the additional magazine and the handle , two 12-round magazines and modulus darts. The stock is a little short for me, but I am a full-grown adult and it is about the same length as the other N-Strike stocks We have already mentioned the carry handle barrel. This features a male and a female attachment point so you can attach that in between any other barrel combination you could possibly want. The top of the handle pivots and clicks into place every 90 degrees so if you want to shoot from the hip, you just turn it to the side and let rip! There is also a little peephole in the top of the carry handle to allow the included sights to have a line of sight so when you attach these other optics you can look through it. The alignment is a little high though so if you have a normal optic on the blaster your line of sight is going to be blocked. As mentioned there are two scopes included, the short barrel scope and the long barrel scope…although they are both pretty much the same size! The short barrel scope even has a rail on top so you can stick more stuff on them if you really want! It works pretty well, and with any luck, this will be implemented in future blasters. I am less fond of the blaster shell itself, though. Normally the selector switch or safety is used with your thumb but I could only reach it with my trigger finger. Also, the mag well is in kind of a weird position in relation to the grip, which makes changing the magazine in a rush is also slightly hit or miss. This might be just a case of getting used to it, but it was another case of making me not quite like it as much as I wanted to. The grip is a little smaller than the nerf norm, added to the trigger guard, which is also small, and then adding in the mag release button there, and it all feels very tight indeed.

Remove the two screws in the orange stock attachment point, as in picture four. Remove the piece by pulling it backwards off of the blaster. Remove the two screws in the top of the priming slide, as in picture five. Do not remove the slide pieces yet. Remove all other screws in the blaster shell as in picture six. Carefully pry both halves of the blaster apart as in picture seven.
Familiarize yourself with the internal mechanism of the blaster. A reference photo has been provided in picture eight. Remove the bolt sled, bolt, plunger tube, plunger rod, spring, and catch mechanism. These pieces are highlighted and identified in picture nine. While most lock removals are optional, it is recommended that you only remove the magazine lock to avoid frustrating priming problems in the future. To do so: Locate the magazine lock, bolt sled lock, and magazine release button, as in picture one. Pry out the grey piece and its spring from the inside of the magazine release button, taking care not to let the spring fly away and get lost.
This method is demonstrated in pictures two, three, and four. Keep these pieces, as they will need to be replaced. Unscrew the silver screw in the bottom of the magazine release button, and lift it and the magazine lock out of the blaster as in pictures seven and eight. You no longer need the magazine lock, but keep the magazine release button. Not recommended.
