She was right, and I was duly abashed. By then she was physically frail—it would be the last time she could attend the event—and seemed, for the first time in our acquaintance, a bit vague.

Именно она - эта самая "жилка" - выстраивает всю картину, держит зрителя в перманентном напряжении и создаёт гипнотическую харизму фильма. Эта "жилка" и есть главное в игре Кейтеля.
То, что выделяет его в ряду перечисленных мной артистов. Роль Джимми Фингерса - вершина актёрского мастерства. На мой взгляд - лучшая в карьере Кейтеля, а там есть из чего выбрать, как вы помните. Безумная "жилка" очень ярко отыграна, например, в том как Джимми навязывает окружающим свой не самый банальный музыкальный вкус, расхаживая повсюду с магнитолой, включенной на полную громкость. Днём она ваяет скульптуры, а ночью ублажает огромного негра по имени Дримз, БДСМной рабыней которого является. Кэрол и Дримз Отдельно хотелось бы отметить неординарный кастинг. В "Пальцах" занят пёстрый и весьма интересный набор исполнителей.
