What's New in Autodesk Revit 2024
This is a simple but handy feature that can save you time and clicks when creating sheets. Drag and drop the selection to a sheet. Sheets are automatically arranged in a grid layout based on their size. This feature is very useful when working with other teams or consultants using different versions of Revit. This feature eliminates the need to use third-party tools or workarounds to link models from different versions, reducing the risk of data loss or corruption when upgrading models to newer versions. No more extra right clicks, which means fewer steps. Previously, Revit could only create one EAM that included everything in the model with limited filtering options.
Now, you can create multiple EAMs based on different 3D views that include only the elements visible in those views. Note: Linked models are not part of the view. This gives you more control over what elements are included in your energy analysis and allows you to create EAMs for specific parts of your project, such as additions, renovations, or zones. Выбранные виды и спецификации размещаются плитками рядом с курсором, что упрощает их упорядочивание на листе. Сортировка параметров проекта!
Параметры проекта сортируются в алфавитном порядке в диалоговых окнах «Тип» и «Свойства экземпляра». В Revit 2024 параметр "Группа модели" переименован в "Модель" Если выделить какое-то семейство, в панели "Свойства" нажать "Изменить тип", то ранее в версиях 2023 и ниже можно было всегда увидеть в разделе "Идентификация" параметр "Группа модели"... Экспорт условных и моделирующих образцов из модели в файл PAT. В диалоговом окне «Образцы штриховки», которое можно открыть на вкладке «Управление», выберите один или несколько образцов для экспорта в файл PAT. Экспортированный файл содержит определения для каждого выбранного образца. Условные и моделирующие образцы необходимо экспортировать в отдельные файлы PAT. Визуальные стили при предварительном просмотре типа!
Для лучшей визуализации того, как элемент отображается в модели, примените к нему визуальный стиль в диалоговом окне «Свойства типа». After making the change to Dark Theme, the UX and drawing area will go dark. The nice thing is that the drawing area can be controlled separately. This is a really nice feature for those that like dark theme in the UX but still want the white background in the drawing area. You will find that some property boxes will still be in Light Theme.
Autodesk will likely get to all of these properties boxes in future, but this is certainly a great start. This new visual style is in between Consistent Colors and Realistic. If there is no image applied to the material, the Texture visual style will simply use the RGB color on the graphics tab.
Add Multiple Views and Schedules You have always been able to drag one view from Project Browser to a Sheet, but now Revit has added the ability to do multiple at a time. Once you have all the views selected, you can drag them into the sheet. You can also do this from the View tab by selecting the View icon, which will open a window that will also allow you to select multiple views at a time.
But, overall this is a really nice feature and a time saver. Resize All Schedule Rows We always like seeing schedule updates in new Revit releases and this one is a nice one. Revit has added the ability to resize all rows in a schedule.
This is going to be nice to quickly adjust the height of the rows all at once. One thing we did notice when we first turned on the feature for All rows is that it took the height of the smallest row in the schedule. In our case, it looked like nothing happened as the rows with larger heights were still the same size as before.
A Color Book is a library or book of premade colors that can be quickly added to your material. The new button has replaced the Pantone button on the Color window, but the nice thing is they added all the Pantone colors as Color Books so you will not lose anything.
Instead, Autodesk recommends using the Massing tool to create void geometry. These tools are more complex and potentially more confusing than building pads, but they allow you to create more complex shapes. In this example, we create a void shape for a parking driveway. You could also use the model in-place tool, but uh... Overall, this is probably for the best...
In Revit 2024: Each toposolid type can have different kinds of topography contours. In the type properties of a toposolid, you need to click on Contour Display. You can decide to have a toposolid type with lots of contours. However, the contours are not visible when editing the points. And maybe you want a water toposolid without any contours. In this example, the toposolid is cut to accommodate the foundation wall and footing. The volume of the toposolid accurately reflects the substraction of the these elements.
This can be use to create curbs. You cannot use this tool on subdivisions, or on very complex shapes. If someone from Autodesk is reading: please fix this! It would be great to place the slab edges on sub-division. Meanwhile, you can use the railings tool to create curbs. Since toposolids are similar to floors, you can switch the composition entirely and have lakes, concrete pads, and other site components while keeping the original topography points. Be careful, though.
You can use them on the new toposolid category.
C: drive , and a larger non-SSD secondary drive e. D: drive , there was no way to point the local BIM 360 storage to the more spacious D: drive. This could easily cause the C: drive to fill up if you worked on several BIM 360 projects or just one mega project. New visual style — Textures Revit has a new view style called Textures, which is a cross between shaded and realistic similar to the view style in SketchUp. It shows the appearance asset texture but without global lighting, so the materials are a consistent color on all surfaces and at all angles. It is possible to have ambient and sun shadows on in this mode, as shown in the example below ambient shadows are on. Previously, the only way to see the texture was to turn on Realistic, which is way too slow, and that is what we have Enscape for! The site tools represent the most significant change for architects! We now have a toposolid command rather than a toposurface. As the name change implies, the ground is now represented by solid geometry rather than a 2D surface.
Missing from the ribbon below is the Building Pad command. Instead, users will now create an in-place mass element that can have sloped edges or define a tunnel, and then use the Cut Geometry tool against it and the toposolid. One great thing about this for Enscape users is that slabs and walls must be cut from the toposolid.
