Like many actors who have walked that path, he started small, with roles in two blaxploitation films, "Bucktown" and "Friday Foster. Unfortunately, none of his unions ended in a happily-ever-after. They welcomed two children and lived in marital bliss for the next decade. Sadly, that came to an end in July 1983.

Weathers was married and divorced three times, to Mary Ann from 1973-1983, Rhona Unsell from 1984-2006 and Jennifer Peterson from 2007-2009. The star was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 14, 1948. During his time in school he exhibited an aptitude for sports and later played football as a defensive end in college. He started his college career in 1966 at Long Beach City College and after sustaining an ankle injury he then transferred and played for San Diego State University.
At San Diego State, Weathers received a master in theatre arts. The actor is seen as Mark Jeffries in Chicago Justice Weathers signed with the Oakland Raiders as a free agent in 1970 and played in seven games for the Raiders in 1970. The Raiders released him in September 1971. He retired from football in 1974 and began pursuing an acting career.
The reason for the separation is not mentioned to the public. Soon after his divorce with his first wife, he was in a relationship with Kathie Lee Gifford. Kathie is an American Television Presenter, singer, songwriter, and author. The relationship ended up soon. In 1984, Carl married his second wife, Rhona Unsell.
The couple lived together for the next twenty-two years and separated apart in 2006.
He started out in the business with two supporting roles in low budget blaxploitation films directed by an old friend of his, Arthur Marks: "Bucktown" 1975 , and "Friday Foster" 1975. The film was a surprise box office smash, and went on to win several Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Once the action roles began to dry up, Weathers simply reinvented himself once again, this time as a comedic sidekick.
