Допивать не стал, оставил на компрессы и переключился на Crabbies Yardhead, который совсем не из кукурузы, но бурбонные нотки там есть за счёт выдержки пару лет в бурбонной бочке. Что касается недавно упомянутого Glen Eagles - не пил, но осуждаю.

Да и по своему возрасту они достаточно близки. Про оба виски я уже написал подробно в отдельных материалах, и, не затягивая, приступлю к их битве. Фото сделано автором По цвету паритет, тут сравнивать смысла нет. Нос Nestville Single Malt Ровный, сладкий с нотками ванили, фруктов, печёных яблок, пряных специй, дуба, леденцов и нот картона.
Держится хорошо, без особого развития, и не сильно упрощается. Deanston Virgin Oak Ровный с нотками трав, фруктов, ванили, пряных специй, дуба, а также покрытых воском яблок с маслянистым характером. Ароматика можно сказать паритет.
Здесь нет отрицательных нот. Всё просто, ровно и понятно. Вкус Nestville Single Malt Ровный с нотками фруктов, ванили, дуба, пряных специй и трав.
Пьётся очень легко, бутылка может уйти на раз. Deanston Virgin Oak Ровный с нотками фруктов, ванили, дуба, красных яблок покрытых воском и пряных специй.
Ну собственно он немного дороже и стоит. Дело в том, что последние 7-8 месяцев выдержки в маленьких бочках действительно радикально улучшают его вкус, делают его более нежным и бархатистым. Фенольность по-прежнему присутствует, она никуда не делась. Если вы выпьете этот виски вечером, то утром дымно-торфяной привкус ещё будет во рту, хотя наверное не так сильно как после такого же количества Лафройг 10.
Также улучшению вкуса способствует отсутствие холодной фильтрации и крепость, приближенная к бочковой. Отрицательные же отзывы происходят оттого, что изначально к этому виски предъявлялись неверные требования или имелись о нём ложные представления. Скорее всего люди сперва пили Лафройг 10, а потом купили Лафройг QC, представляя его себе наверное таким же как "десятка".

Что касается выдержки, то это бочки из под бурбона и хереса. Но как мне кажется, хереса там совсем чуть-чуть, его совершенно не ощущается в запахе и он едва-едва проявляется сладостью во вкусе. Познакомился я с этим виски совершенно случайно - после долгой прогулки в не самую комфортную погоду заскочил в первый попавшийся бар хлопнуть что-то согревающее, выбора в меню практически не было и я решил что вот он момент попробовать что-то новое. И это был чрезвычайно удачный выбор, так как Акентошен идеально подходит на роль виски, который можно "хлопнуть" без эстетского смакования. Теперь о самом напитке: Аромат: Лёгкий цитрусовый аромат с нотами ванили и кислинкой зеленого яблочка. При этом запах всё таки приятный, без спиртуозности. Вкус: Никакой маслянистости и обволакиваемости.
