It also allows far too much shiver and shake through the tiller whenever the car encounters some rough portions of road. As ever, the brakes are excellent for feel and stopping power. Like all the technological treats in the LS430, the reverse-parking camera and active cruise control are simple to master and effective, too, when operational. For all its cleverness, the cruise control does not work in rain, direct sunlight and some other conditions and cannot pull the car up if the traffic ahead has slowed to a crawl — a panic-stricken buzzer comes on to encourage the driver to slam on the brakes. Inside, trainspotters will notice Toyota switchgear in the spacious and opulent cavern but on the whole the LS430 is remarkable for its incredible comfort, wonderful ergonomics, first-rate refinement, great attention to detail and impeccable fit and finish.
Features such as improved stereo sound and seat vibrators do not go unnoticed in the rear compartment, although DVD monitors are an obvious omission. A long-wheelbase version, not due until the next generation, is also needed to pander to the chauffeured buyer. The boot is huge and holds a full-size alloy spare wheel, but a drinks cooler blocks access to the back seat — not that a big lump of timber would be carried all that often in such a vehicle.
Internally, no detail has been overlooked, and the LS 430 has those exclusive little touches that Lexus is famous for. Beautifully stitched leather seats create an air of sheer indulgence and luxury, while an intuitive console provides the driver with every detail at their fingertips. Controlling the internal climate is simple, creating a comfortable, relaxing interior for passengers, even on longer journeys. The interior was modelled using the principles of Omotenashi, the very essence of Japanese hospitality focused on serenity, calmness and relaxation. All of this comes with a safety package that puts the LS 430 in a class of its own. Does the Lexus LS 430 hold its value?

Напутствие оказалось правдивым: впоследствии Алексей докупил и установил оригинальную трапецию за 18 600 рублей. Напоследок подключили омыватель фар, который в связи с северной пропиской авто был отключен за ненадобностью.
Диагностика подвески замечаний не выявила. Когда Алексей решил для порядка проверить работоспособность кондиционера, показалось, что все в порядке. Заменив ниппели и сделав заправку, он успокоился. Но через некоторое время Алексею показалось, что при включенном кондиционере зашелестел компрессор. К сожалению, после его переборки и замены ролика обводного ремня звук никуда не делся. Оказалось, что звук при нагрузке издавал вентилятор климатической системы— пришлось заменить диффузор, купленный на разборке за 8 500 рублей.
Профилактика генератора, как оказалось, была сделана не зря: его ещё ни разу не тревожили. После вскрытия были заменены подшипники и щеточный узел. Борьба с стуком в рулевой колонке тоже длилась недолго: Алексей купил на разборке другую рулевую колонку за 10 000 рублей. К слову, во Владивостоке этот узел обойдётся в разы дешевле, но тут пришлось доплатить за ее фактическое наличие. Однажды во время загородной поездки Алексей почувствовал в машине неприятный запах, а посмотрев в зеркало заднего вида, ужаснулся, увидев, что за Лексусом тянется шлейф черного дыма. Поломку Алексей обнаружил, как только открыл капот: лопнул шланг системы охлаждения АКПП, прямо у радиатора.
Как потом выяснилось, шланг имел неизвестное происхождение и не маслобензостойкое исполнение.

I cant believe how perfect it is after 19 years. No leaks, and drives better than much newer cars. With 18 inch wheels, the car will run with a five series BMW with a v-8. I could not be happier with my purchase. It is an awesome automobile. This is my second Lexus , the first 1995.
The Lexus is much the superior to anything on the road. The car is big but it handles very well and it is very quiet and luxurious and unlike other expensive cars like BMW and Mercedes the Lexus is very reliable so you are not constantly in the shop getting things repaired. The car also is not bad on gas when you compare it to other V-8s and even some V-6s. I also like the fact that although the car is very luxurious it is not ostentatious flashy because I am conservative and do not like a lot of attention.

In fact, so improved was the new LS that it sat two insurance groups lower than the outgoing car. Launched in the UK on 1 November 2003, the revised third-generation LS 430 introduced a number of new features. Externally, little had changed, other than a switch from 17 to 18-inch alloy wheels, the addition of a new grille, twin exhaust pipes, and the adoption of new lighting units — LED lenses out back and projector headlights that followed steering inputs.
Its closer gear ratios covered a wider range than before, which showed in the sprint to 62mph which was now 0. But of particular note was how the LS 430 broke new ground in its level of safety, thanks to new pre-collision technology and an impressive array of ten airbags within updated Supplementary Restraint System technology. These included the first driver and passenger double knee airbag seen in Europe, which deployed from the underside of the instrument panel at the same time as the front airbags to reduce injuries from contact with the steering column and lower dashboard structures.
Once again the Lexus LS had delivered specifications and quality above that of its rivals. But behind the scenes, Lexus engineers were already a couple of years into the development of the fourth-generation model. All information was correct at the time of publishing.
