Aware of what this means, Brienne tells Jaime his debt to her will be paid if he keeps his promise. He swears to return the Stark girls to their mother. When Brienne says goodbye, she calls Jaime by name. Jaime futilely tries to pay off Locke and then jumps into the pit to get between the bear and Brienne. Jaime hoists Brienne out of the pit and is pulled out just as the bear charges. Helpless, Locke backs down and Jaime escorts Brienne out of Harrenhal. Although there are more Unsullied than sellswords, Ser Barristan warns Dany they are formidable. Dany invites their leaders, Mero of Braavos, Prendahl na Ghezn and Daario Naharis to meet in an attempt to buy their allegiance. Mero and Prendahl are crude and offensive, while Daario is only skeptical of her mission. The men take a barrel of wine while they think over her proposition. The men draw coins and Daario is designated the assassin. Her captor surprises her when he mentions he saved Sansa from being raped by a mob. Melisandre sends him to a comfortable chamber, provoking Stannis Baratheon to complain she should just do the deed. Tyrion enters her chamber and in a moment alone with his bride-to-be, swears he will never hurt her. Loras tries to make conversation with Cersei and quickly learns she has no desire to speak to him. Tyrion plays up his drunkenness and retreats with his wife into their chamber. Sansa replies that may never happen. The man grabs Missandei and holds a knife to her throat. Daario pledges his loyalty-and heart-to Dany alone and promises that the Second Sons will fight for her. Stripping naked, Melisandre seduces him and straps him to the bed-and then applies leeches to his body. Stannis and Davos enter and watch as Melisandre removes the swollen leeches and walks over to a brazier. As they gather kindling, ravens land in the trees above them and begin to caw. The Walker explodes into ice. With so much at stake, he asks Catelyn for her advice; her instincts were right about Theon. Robb apologizes profusely to Lord Frey and the women in his family for breaking his promise to marry one of them. Despite the tense exchange, Walder pledges to put the past behind them. Orell, Tormund and Ygritte propose killing the man. When Jon Snow objects, suspicions arise. The wildlings race toward the hut, but Jon clanks his sword on a rock to alert the man, then distracts Ygritte mid-shot so she misses her target. The Reeds spot the fleeing horse breeder and the wildlings in pursuit. Hodor threatens to blow their cover when he shouts in panic, fearful of thunder. They task Jon with killing him as a test of loyalty. Because Jon hesitates, Ygritte ultimately does the deed. The wildlings realize the truth: Jon is still a crow. Orell wargs into his eagle right before Jon kills him. Shielding himself from the eagle, Jon rides off, abandoning Ygritte. He proposes her two best fighters enter the city with him through the back gate, so they can kill the guards and open the front gate for her army. The three men fend off the Yunkish guards. A worried Dany paces until their successful return - aware of what happened in Astapor, the slave soldiers surrendered. Daario presents his queen with the flag of the city. The Hound knocks the man out but reluctantly relents when Arya begs him not to him. As they approach the Stark camp, Arya is restless. Arya reveals that she knows his fear of fire, and promises to murder him one day. The two are married in the Faith of the Seven; a boisterous reception follows. Filled with drink, the Blackfish excuses himself. She calls out to Robb, but the massacre begins. Lothar Frey stabs Talisa repeatedly in the abdomen. Archers in the rafters rain arrows on the Stark attendees, wounding both Catelyn and Robb. The onslaught continues in the Stark camp outside. Now with a hostage, she begs for mercy, offering to forget and forgive everything so long as her firstborn is spared. Unmoved, Lord Walder shrugs and Catelyn looks on as Bolton stabs her son. Despairing, Cat kills the Frey girl and stands motionless with shock and grief until her own neck is cut. Lord Frey asks what happened there and Roose tells him his bastard son Ramsay has been keeping Theon Greyjoy captive. Tyrion defends his wife by threatening Joffrey. The King throws a tantrum in response and Tywin Lannister sends him to bed. Tyrion disapproves of the murders, but Tywin argues that his plan was best for the family. The Lannister name comes first, he reminds Tyrion as he reiterates his order to impregnate Sansa. Tyrion questions whether Tywin ever had to sacrifice anything and his father replies he has: He fought his impulse to kill Tyrion the day he was born. Upon returning to his chamber, Tyrion finds his grieving wife. Although Balon refuses to surrender for a son who cannot further the family line, Yara resolves to rescue her little brother. He argues that her presence in the capital puts Tyrion at risk. She rejects the bribe and says that if Tyrion wants her gone, he must tell her himself. The boy is surprised to learn that Davos is also from Flea Bottom. Davos says he only accepted the lordship because of his son, who is now dead. She advises Tyrion that giving Sansa a child will make her happier. As the man reaches for the coin, Arya stabs him repeatedly. The Hound kills the other men easily. Bran tells a story about a cook in the ancient castle who was turned into a hungry rat after he killed a guest beneath their roof. Sam is surprised to hear that Bran is venturing beyond the Wall, especially after Jojen reveals he knows about the White Walkers. Sam explains how he killed a White Walker and gives the group the dragonglass he pocketed at the Fist. He reluctantly leads the group to the tunnel to cross through the Wall. Gilly names her child after Sam and is invited to stay. When Sam informs Aemon of the mobilizing White Walkers, Aemon prepares to alert the kingdom of the threat. Stannis Baratheon informs Davos that Robb Stark is dead and Melisandre maintains a bigger sacrifice is now necessary. Melisandre looks into the flame and confirms the real war is to the north.
