Institutional Apparel : His "uniform" is a straitjacket, or at least intended to resemble one heavily. Insufferable Genius : He frequently talks down to the other participants because of their inability to think about their situation critically, like he does. While he does have some admirable moments, most of them are really only pragmatic and he still continues the same mischievous behavior in the process.
Jerkass Has a Point : As The Rival character of this game, he has made many accurate points towards the killer within the class trials. During the fourth trial, Kokichi mocks the rest of the class, Kaito in particular, for wanting to vote based on their feelings rather than the actual truth.
Kokichi is then dragged through a tunnel, where he is slammed into a chair and his arms and legs are bound by heavy cuffs with chains. A chessboard with chess pieces drop down in front of him, with him taking black. Monokuma takes the white pieces and the two are surrounded by many Monokumas. Meanwhile the other students watch in another room. Monokuma and Kokichi begin to play, and Kokichi is about to checkmate Monokuma when Monokuma flips the chessboard. The camera then refocuses from the body to the black king chess piece, which had landed in a puddle of blood from Kokichi.

В конце второй главы Кокити узнаёт, что настоящий талант Маки — «Абсолютная убийца», и раскрывает это всем остальным. С этого момента большинство учеников начинают сторониться Маки — кроме Кайто, который подбодряет её, и Сюити. Так у них образовался альянс. Маки влюбилась в Кайто и очень переживала из-за его болезни. When I was writing the first game and figuring out what was going to happen to Junko , I started to write Genocide Jack and how different that character was from Toko. While I was writing this I felt this is the kind of tension and tempo I want the series to carry. At the end of the day, I felt Toko represented what Danganronpa was and the kind of storytelling might have. I fell back to the current transformation after being told having them look too different would be messy since she transforms back and forth so often.
