An angry Waelarn summoned three other knightly orders—the Holy Warriors of Suffering, the Knights of the Bleeding Shield, and the Order of the Golden Cup—to his side and vowed holy war against the "unclean ones of Mussum" and their allies. But Ilmater caused Sir Guth to rise from his grave as an unrelenting zombie, which tracked the rogue priest across Sespech. In fact, it eventually found its way to Crimmor in Amn, to the merchant Beguld Thormon—also a doppelganger, as Ilmatari investigators later found—then to a Thayan crime gang.

A 40,000-gp reward was offered for the return of the complete and undamaged Tome. At least twice, fraudsters delivered fake Tomes to the House of the Broken God, and were punished for their trickery. Тут опять выручил фамильяр, с помощью которого стало понятно, что нужно мне в башню. А ещё два важных момента — вход в лабораторию под охраной, а в самой лаборатории царит редкостный бардак. По всему выходило, что мне нужно мэру, так я оказался в кабинете Джейкобсона, крупного темнокожего мужика. Само собой он сразу понял, что никакой я ученик. Пришлось выкручиваться, врать про телепортацию в город и дело к Густаву Анри от моего учителя. Это помогло. От мэра я узнал, что алхимик пропал несколько дней назад. Куда — неизвестно. Он и сам бы хотел это узнать. Мэр быстро смекнул в чем мой интерес, поэтому предложил сделку — я выполню одно его поручение, а он пустит меня в лабораторию. Пришлось соглашаться. Хотя было жутко иронично, когда выяснилось, что нужно через канализацию покинуть город и добраться до окрестной мельницы, где как-то умудряется обороняться некая семь Черенсо. Вот их-то нужно провести в город, а заодно неплохо бы прихватить провизии. А чтобы меня не повязали в случае чего, он даже выдал мне железный жетон, с уже знакомым символом. Сразу стало понятно, что именно он ждал помощь от арфистов. Но дождаться её явно не судьба, что я, впрочем, благоразумно не стал озвучить. Уже на выходе от мэра я чуть не столкнулся с весьма примечательной персоной. Дворфийка в латных доспехом с протезом вместо одной из ног. Что-то мне подсказала, что это и есть та самая Дэлрэ. Уж больно внушительно она выглядела. А заодно быстро смекнула, когда я попытался её нагреть и не постеснялась прижать меня угрозами. Пришлось и ей рассказать сказку про телепортацию, поиски алхимика и просьбу мэра. Ничто из услышанного не пришлось дворфийки по нраву. Она вообще была весьма пренебрежительно настроена к магии. Но при этом предложила мне некую сделку, потребовав ждать её в казармах через час. Не понравилось мне это предложение. Или скорее не понравилась сама дворфийка.
