Discover What's New in Autodesk Revit 2024.2: Enhancements, Integration, and Features Update
This way, you can easily see each revision in your project and make modifications, or directly edit the schedule fields if necessary. Link Coordination Models Visually cross-check between models of various disciplines and phases of a project. In 3D views, visually compare collaboration models created in Revit or other modeling tools for coordination purposes. You can link directly to views from Autodesk Docs without downloading the file to a local resource.
This was mainly because it needed more options and capabilities in other system families. However, with the release of Revit 2024, a new feature called Toposolids, which harnesses all the capabilities of a system family, has been introduced. Toposolids can now have layers with thickness and materials similar to other system families. Currently, voids can be used to cut out sections of Toposolids.
However, a more efficient tool is expected to be developed to handle cuts in Toposolids. Families can now be hosted on Toposolids, including floor-based families and railings, which can be helpful in various projects. Our team is eagerly waiting for this feature to be fully developed. By holding down the CTRL key, choose the necessary views, including model views, schedules, legends, and drafting views, then drag them onto a sheet. Alternatively, utilize the Add Views to Sheet tool in the View ribbon tab, select multiple views, click OK, and promptly place them on the sheet. While not headline-worthy, this feature is a time-saving convenience, sparing users from the tedious task of dragging and dropping views onto sheets individually.
The new design includes redesigned icons for both light and dark themes, which aims to reduce screen glare and enhance the viewing experience. After using it, I prefer it. The Canvas Theme button on the View ribbon tab enables easy switching of the graphics window between light and dark without affecting the rest of the interface. Interface adjustments are available in the options on the Colors panel. This more interactive feature, highlighting entries as you order, is handy for large projects with numerous views, sheets, schedules, and families in the project browser. These color books resemble the AutoCAD versions, incorporating RAL and Pantone color books, and offer the flexibility to craft personalized color books. This customization feature empowers users to establish a palette of custom colors tailored for specific applications like room color fills and filled region colors. This style falls between Consistent Colors and Realism. This makes it a lighter option than Realistic, allowing you to showcase materials with their respective images. This feature makes it much easier to keep track of revisions made throughout the project and which sheet they have been applied to.
Fresh from the Factory, Revit 2024 is rolling out globally! This new toolset supports the design and documentation of richly detailed landscapes. Model your design intent freely and easily, with versatile site and massing tools for modeling topography. Populate schedules, sheets, and views and calculate material quantities. Cut, fill, join, and run phasing scenarios. Use the design-to-documentation engine of Revit to save time and improve design quality when modeling landscape and site conditions.

Open Sheet Directly from View If a view is placed on a sheet, that sheet can now be opened quickly via right-clicking within the view and selecting Open Sheet as shown here. Figure 14. These are spaced out sufficiently so they do not overlap, but they likely require manual adjustment once placed. Family parameters are unchanged from previous behavior. Architectural The architectural discipline has several new features and will make a lot of architects and designers happy. Of course, we will all have wishlist items not found in the update.
Be sure to head to the Revit Ideas site and make sure you post or vote for enhancements you want. Here is an example of a much needed enhancement to the Bind Revit Link Revit Idea that would maintain phases — most do not realize that all phase settings are lost when you bind a Revit link until they need to do it! Textures View Style Revit has a new view style called Textures. I was in the beta user group for this one. It is a cross between shaded and realistic. It shows the appearance asset texture but without global lighting, so the materials are a consistent color on all surfaces and at all angles.

Sun settings on ribbon When running a solar study, the sun settings are now presented on the ribbon as shown below. Clicking the sun setting button opens the traditional sun settings dialog with the same settings. Another enhancement includes the ability to select much shorter time increment options. Figure 22. The site tools represent the most significant change in Revit 2024 for architects, which is both exciting and a little scary! We now have a toposolid command rather than a toposurface. As the name change implies, the ground is now represented by solid geometry rather than a 2D surface.
This is the exciting part. Missing from the ribbon below is the building pad command, which is the scary part — I will explain this in the next section. Figure 24. Comparing Revit 2024 site tools to previous versions.

Из того, что понравилось — кнопочки внизу экрана стоят более разреженно, что упрощает их восприятие и нажатие по ним. Специально для сравнения выровнял оба набора кнопок по кнопке детализации. Ведь у нас полей для сортировки по-прежнему 4 штуки... Порядок прорисовки 2Д элементов Не проверял, но разработчики обещают, что теперь аннотации и элементы узлов в семействах будут работать стабильнее при отображении в проекте, редакторе семейств и на печати. То есть будет проще работать с УГО — условными графическими обозначениями. Раньше была проблема, что некоторые аннотации в проекте и при печати отображались некорректно: закрывали объекты или наоборот, перекрывались. Теперь должно быть стабильнее, как в редакторе — так и в проекте и на печати. Редко сталкивался с этим, но попробовал быстро накидать, вроде работает, но не совсем корректно. Открыл первое попавшееся семейство — точки подключения умывальника. Добавил вложенное семейство в категории «Элементы узлов», нарисовал символическую линию и область штриховки. Если дисциплина инженерная, Сантехника, Механизмы или Электросети, то в параметре «Показать невидимые линии» должно стоять «Нет», иначе всё просвечивает. Вот только есть незадача: при таком выборе не будет видно оси труб, а нам они нужны. Если на дисциплине «Координация» выбрать «Нет» или «По категории», то результат одинаковый: оси не видно, но и не просвечивает, всё как на первом скриншоте ниже.
You can read out the information from the selected element in the Properties Browser. One of the main benefits is the capability to link models from previous versions of Revit without upgrading them. This feature is very useful when collaborating with other stakeholders who are working with older model versions. Once you have linked Coordination Models, you can manage these files in the Coordination Model tab located in the Manage Links menu. As you can see in the example below, every surface of the floor has been aligned individually with the same pattern. To reset the pattern, you can use the Entire Surface again.
This style can be described as a hybrid mode between Consistent Colors and Realistic. It will show textures like in the Realistic mode but without the global lights which sometimes can be a little buggy on floorplans. You can use the Texture style for presentation in 3D views, or floor planners, for example. However, Revit 2024 has introduced its own Color Book. This Color Book has premade colors of different sets that can be used for different materials, filled regions, etc. Not only do the Color Books feature a variety of pre-existing color sets, such as Pantone colors, but they have also expanded to include RAL colors. Furthermore, you are allowed to search for a color in the blank field below the Color Books dialog.

Но и здесь не без проблем — выемку делает, а насыпь нет. Так что ещё надо допиливать. Для меня так же важно что теперь при редактировании вершин отображаются горизонтали! Теперь хоть работать с топотелом можно. Добавили ещё возможность создавать топотела по Форме, как крыши и перекрытия ХЗ зачем , кнопку упростить топотело не тестировал продолжает ли он упрощать сам при создании по точкам , и переключение отображения сглаженного рельефа и «гранённого» 9. Редактор материалов Говорят ускорили отрисовку миниатюр, засекать и сравнивать не стал, ну может немного быстрее стало.

Environment 11. This parameter allows you to obtain accurate quantities for each Toposolid instance that requires Cut and Fill takeoff. Once you have these quantities, you can create a detailed earthwork schedule. In version 11. Last but not least, we improved the performance of importing CAD attributes any of them into the corresponding, newly created Revit families, making it easier yet to move all relevant information into Revit.
However, as we got to know the new Toposolid well, it dawned on us that we could use the SBT tool to drape and embed Floors as pathways upon and within Toposolids. In V11. Oh, almost forgot. No more confusing pink walls in edit mode.
This is a really nice feature for those that like dark theme in the UX but still want the white background in the drawing area. You will find that some property boxes will still be in Light Theme. Autodesk will likely get to all of these properties boxes in future, but this is certainly a great start. This new visual style is in between Consistent Colors and Realistic.
If there is no image applied to the material, the Texture visual style will simply use the RGB color on the graphics tab. Add Multiple Views and Schedules You have always been able to drag one view from Project Browser to a Sheet, but now Revit has added the ability to do multiple at a time. Once you have all the views selected, you can drag them into the sheet. You can also do this from the View tab by selecting the View icon, which will open a window that will also allow you to select multiple views at a time. But, overall this is a really nice feature and a time saver. Resize All Schedule Rows We always like seeing schedule updates in new Revit releases and this one is a nice one. Revit has added the ability to resize all rows in a schedule. This is going to be nice to quickly adjust the height of the rows all at once.
One thing we did notice when we first turned on the feature for All rows is that it took the height of the smallest row in the schedule. In our case, it looked like nothing happened as the rows with larger heights were still the same size as before. A Color Book is a library or book of premade colors that can be quickly added to your material. The new button has replaced the Pantone button on the Color window, but the nice thing is they added all the Pantone colors as Color Books so you will not lose anything. The one thing we do hope they add soon is a search bar in the Color Books window. They do have a Color field but we have found that you have to be pretty specific for it to work.
