А уж как англичане относятся к своим традициям, хорошо известно: и сейчас в лагере работают те, кто ездил туда в детстве, а те, кто приезжает отдыхать, наслышаны о лагере от своих пап и мам.
В течение нескольких десятилетий лагерь старались проводить при любом стечении обстоятельств. А складывались они по-разному. У лагеря никогда не было своего собственного места. В этом смысле Англия не Россия — тут где попало палатки не разобьешь. Приходилось арендовать территорию. Пользовались и чьей-то благотворительностью, которая по воле случая вдруг заканчивалась, и надо было срочно искать новые варианты размещения. Лагерь был устроен очень мобильно. Интересно, что и сегодня еще в ходу те самые неснашиваемые легкие армейские палатки и слегка потертые от времени, цветные пластиковые кружки.
