И надо же: к 25-й минуте «Ванкувер» забросил пять шайб, и тренерскому штабу ничего не оставалось, как бросить в бой Печурского. Александр потрудился на славу — за оставшееся время пропустил всего один гол, отразил 12 бросков и стал третьей звездой матча. На этом сказка Печурского, увы, закончилась — в юниорской лиге через год его выставили на драфт отказов уже не проходил по возрасту , а новое соглашение с «Питтсбургом» не принесло Александру ровным счётом ничего, ни единой игры в фарм-клубе, не говоря уже о НХЛ. После возвращения в Россию Печурский зацепил Кубок Гагарина с «Металлургом», отыграл три сезона в «Амуре», вытащил в плей-офф «Ценг Тоу», не справился с этой задачей в усть-каменогорском «Торпедо», а сейчас, как выразился сам вратарь, отвратительно начал чемпионат в Новокузнецке. Как говорил Александр несколько лет назад, его подводит лишний вес, нужно постоянно его сбрасывать, чтобы становится быстрее и резче.

The team was widely expected to be targeting a forward with the pick, however, at the time, Max Comtois, who had been ranked as high as the top-10, has seen his stock drop all the way out of the first round. In hindsight, Comtois was in fact worthy of a first-round pick, however, just falling out of the top-10. Despite being moved out of the desert and onto colder pastures, Suzuki is well on his way to proving his value at the NHL as a rookie with the Canadiens. Original Pick: Cal Foote The Lightning desired a defenseman to slide into their top-four with the 14th overall selection. With several blueliners projected to go in the second half of the first round, Al Murray opted for Foote. The Kelowna Rockets product tallied three more points than Henri Jokiharju in his draft year, but the latter has begun his professional career on a more intriguing note.

Its more about battling in the corners and clearing the front of the net than throwing big open-ice hits though. Foote has a hard slap shot which he keeps low and puts on net. He also has good poise with the puck on his stick, and the vision to quarterback things from the point on the power play. He topped that in his second year, putting up 19 goals and 71 points in just 57 games. The 71 points led the Chiefs in Scoring. He scored seven goals and 13 points in just seven games in the tournament. A late birthday, he is not eligible until the 2017 draft, when he will have just completed his third year in the WHL. Yamamoto has tremendous hands, he is a great stickhandler and can bury goals in tight to the goalie. He also is very quick to loose pucks with great acceleration and a really quick first step. More a play maker than a goal scorer, he uses his quickness and stickhandling to open up passing lanes. Yamamoto can feather passes tape-to-tape to his linemates and has outstanding vision. He also put up 15 goals and 34 points in 37 games playing in the under 20 SuperElite league. A versatile player, Vesalainen has experience playing both wings. He has excellent size, and uses it to protect the puck along the boards and extend plays in the cycle. Gifted with a large wing-span, Vesalainen takes advantage of it to play keep-away with defenders. A budding power forward, Vesalainen wins battles along the boards, and is not afraid to fight through checks to get to the front of the net. Vesalainen also has an excellent shot. His skating is surprisingly quick, and his stride long and fluid. He plays a strong two-way game and covers a lot of ground for a big man. Hague scored 14 goals last season, showing off a powerful slap shot on the power play. He is able to move laterally and walk the line to open up shooting lanes to get his shot through. Hague could stand to improve his passing skills this season though. He makes a decent breakout pass from his own end, but needs to be a bit more patient with the puck at the oppositions blue. The big man also shows good defensive instincts for a player his age. Vaakanainen has excellent hockey IQ. He reads the play very well in both the offensive and defensive ends of the ice. He chooses to make the smart plays both with and without the puck. Defensively he has great gap control and positioning. He also can skate the puck out of danger in his own zone, and start the transition game with a good first pass.
Teams looking to future at 2017 NHL Draft
Still, at the age of 21, the center already features 99 deking, 98 hand-eye, 98 passing, 98 puck control, 99 offensive awareness, 90 speed, 90 acceleration, and 99 offensive awareness. At 21-years-old, the Power Forward is already a speedster, a brute, and a master marksman. The right-shot winger can score from anywhere with his 93 wrist and slap shot accuracy, as well as the 94 slap and wrist shot power. He can push around anyone with 91 strength, 94 body checking, and can fly past the most fleet-footed defenseman with 91 acceleration, 91 speed, and 91 agility. By this point, Cechmanek is a pure puck-mover, boasting very high puck skills ratings but relatively low shooting ratings.

Я не слишком много думал о «Везина», хотя, конечно, это многое значит. Особенно потому, что за вратарский приз голосуют генеральные менеджеры, именно они выбирают лучшего. А вот в борьбе за «Харт Трофи» — награду, которая вручается самому ценному игроку регулярного чемпионата, — Бобровского и не только его, а еще и самого Сидни Кросби обставил вундеркинд из «Эдмонтона» Коннор Макдэвид.

But the Senators were awful this season and that makes evaluating most of their players — particularly the youngest ones — difficult.
In Brannstrom, I see a zone exit and entry machine, a superb passer, enviable poise with the puck and just enough talent with his feet and stick to hold his own defensively. And though he became an immediate impact forward at the AHL level, he never really dictated play there as much as he should have given his skill set. His game is built for it. When he gets touches, he makes things happen. The Oilers need more players like him in their supporting cast, not less.
I think both of those things can be true, even if I have to acknowledge the bias I have from being lower on Chytil than most over the years. He can skate. He plays hard and fast. You expect a 6-foot-6 defenceman to have a hard shot and to impose himself physically. In a worst-case scenario, he becomes a useful third-pairing defenceman who can contribute at both ends.
In the best-case scenario, he might challenge for the top 10. The potential reward has always outweighed the risk with Hague. Always have. Always will. Did I have a little too much appreciation for it in 2017?
Hopefully the injury troubles are behind him and the Flames are happy with this pick twice. Was he a first-round pick? Does he still have a chance to be an impact top-six player and dynamic power play option? But there were — and are — warts in his game. He lands at No.
He can, however, play at the top of the roster with more talented players which is a skill and help out on the power play. Advertisement 19. I would argue Texier has the higher ceiling while Bemstrom has the lower floor. Given the way I normally evaluate players, Texier should probably be ahead of Bemstrom for that reason. I do think Bemstrom has shown more consistency at the pro level, though, so that gave him a very slight edge.
Texier is definitely a better passer, skater and carrier so it will be interesting to see if he can put it all together in the next couple of years or if he settles as a fine middle-six forward rather than an impact one.
